Nov 3 Dr. Voloshina presents at the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy Seminar.
Oct 1 RAL renovations are complete and the majority of equipment is installed. We’re excited to get started on experiments!

Click through the photos on the left to see our Bertec instrumented treadmill being installed. We also have a Vicon motion capture system and the Humotech emulator system for rapid prototyping of assistive device control. Dr. Voloshina brought her students from MAE 286: Design for Human Movement into the lab to look into the biomechanics behind some funny gaits!

Sept 23 RAL heads to the 2022 Southern California Robotics Symposium! Dr. Voloshina presents as a New Faculty Speaker.
Sept 19 Kaushal Patel joins the lab as a doctoral student! He will focus on developing methods for effective lower limb constraint-induced therapy. Welcome Kaushal!

Feb 1 Paula Simo Higueras joins the lab through the Balsells Mobility Program. She will be here until the summer to work on her Bachelor’s thesis to be submitted to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Welcome, Paula!

Dec 3 Dr. Voloshina presents virtually at the Ohio State University Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Seminar.
Nov 1 Dr. Voloshina is an invited lecturer at for the UCI Uni Stu 3 Freshman Seminar. We had a great discussion on the future and challenges of wearable technology!
Sept 23 Sarasadat (Sara) Meschi joins RAL as the first doctoral student! She is interested in exploring how biofeedback can improve adaptation to assistive devices. Welcome, Sara!
Aug 20 Dr. Voloshina presents at the Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences Clinical Boot Camp at Northwestern University, on the topic of wearable assistive devices for rehabilitation.

2020

Oct 10 Dr. Voloshina was awarded the Career Development Award by the Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Engineering Research Career Development Program (IREK12). Read more about the program here: https://irek12.org
Aug 6 Dr. Voloshina virtually presented her work at the 2020 American Society of Biomechanics Conference. She discussed the effects of exoskeleton assistance in individuals with unilateral transtibial amputation. This work was conducted when she was a postdoctoral scholar with the Stanford Biomechatronics Lab.
